Planet Insight Platform brings together Planet’s global daily Earth data, derived data products, and powerful cloud-based tools in one place.
This is the platform recently introduced by Planet, for now it is SentinelHub by Planet before it fully becomes the Planet Insight Platform.
With SentinelHub by Planet, you can search, order, and subscribe to Planet Imagery via a webapp which is called EOBrowser or via API.
One of the great benefits of using SentinelHub by Planet is the ability to work in the cloud without having another cloud subscription separately.
You can undertake analysis directly such as making a custom visualization and spectral indices, create a temporal visualization timelapse, and time series statistics.
All without having to download the earth data to your storage.
Last but not least, you can also integrate them into existing GIS tools or to power custom web applications.
All Planet customers are eligible for a 6-months trial.
So if you have an existing Planet account, you can login to your Planet account, go to the account app, and you’ll see a pop-up notification to get access to SentinelHub. The 6-month trial will provide each Planet user to access EOBrowser, Request Builder, Configuration Utility, and SDK. Access to Catalog, Process, OGC, Statistical, BYOC, and TDPI APIs. And 10,000 processing units per month or 30,000 request per month. For more information, check here
In addition, all SentinelHub users will get access to Planet Sandbox Data in SentinelHub collection to explore and experience a substantial amount of Planet data samples, from ARPS, Planetary Variables, and more.
Should you need more information or seek any guidance, feel free to reach out to Planet ([email protected]) and they will be happy to help you.
